Day of Event - Arriving at the Park

  • There will be NO Gear Check this year

    • Please only bring what you can carry on the run/walk

  • Must wait in car until it is your time slot – strictly enforced

    • We will have volunteers in the parking lot allowing only those with the correct color bib to enter. You are not allowed to “hangout” in groups in the park/parking lot

  • You will still need to show your ID to get a wristband

    • Volunteers checking IDs will be wearing a mask

    • You must also have your mask on to get ID checked since you will be closer than 6 ft. to the volunteer

5K

  • During the line up for the 5K keeping your distance from each other is very important

  • When lining up for 5K there will be markings on the ground showing 6 ft.

    • Everyone must be on their own marking. STRICTLY ENFORCED. We will not start the run until everyone follows this.

  • Of course while running please try your best to keep your distance unless you are walking in a pre-approved group

  • As a reminder the chip time does not start until you cross the start line so it does not matter for your time how far back in line you are

Beer Stops

  • We will have hand sanitizer at the entrance of each Beer Stop

    • Participants MUST use the sanitizer to enter

  • Each beer sample will have a lid to prevent any contamination

  • Breweries serving the beer samples will be wearing masks and gloves

  • We have added more tables to give more space while grabbing samples

  • There will be markers on the ground as a reminder to keep your distance from one another while grabbing samples

  • Only 7 participants allowed in the Beer Stop at a time

    • Reminder that Hops for Hope 5K will have finisher awards, so everyone will receive a medal this year compared to previous years where the top 3 male and female of each are group would only receive a medal

Conclusion of 5K

  • We will NOT be hosting the Awards Ceremony (post race party) this is simply not possible with only 50 people allowed in an area

  • We will do this plan instead .... explain

*Reminder that Hops for Hope 5K being an in person event is only possible if we are in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan or higher. If things get worse we will have to make the tough decision and go virtual.
